Art Department - A Record For Records Sake

Hot on the heels of the recent Normalizm EP and 4-tracker that topped vinyl charts for Kerri Chandlers Kaoz Theory, Art Department drops a 3 track vinyl-only offering for this year's Record Store Day, simply titled 'A Record For Records Sake'. The release kicks off with a warm, filtered and looped sample work out featuring disco guitar licks and a simple, infectious key melody executed in typically raw Art Department fashion. The song comes with a 'Dolled Up Mix' which sees subtle changes in filter work and mixdown to extract a different emotion from the record. The EP closes with a straight forward house offering in 'd'igualada ', a stripped back and deep affair with muted jazz undertones and relentless rhythm section.
