Pola: Kuku (EP)

Pola first pricked our consciousness this time last year via a fine EP of tech-house tunes on Hungary's All Inn imprint. He returned this April with a 12" of tracks on Finale Sessions that successfully joined the dots between deep house and tech-house. He continues on a similar theme here, marking his first appearance on Aku with two tried-and-tested late night treats. On the A-side you'll find "Triangle", a rolling and bass-heavy number that wraps spacey synthesizer riffs, fluid hand percussion and spacey tech-house electronics around a fine deep house groove. Flipside "Survival", meanwhile, moves further towards straight-up tech-house territory, delivering the kind of bustling, metallic but liquid roller that wouldn't sound out of place on YYY or Pleasure Zone.
